A Button covering & eyeletting service

UK Sewing Services offers a button covering and eyeleting sampling service. Although we stock for sale all button sizes, for covering service we offer most popular sizes of C16L (10mm) through C24L (15mm) in both dome & halfball, UK26L(16.5mm), C28L(18mm) in dome , plus C36L (23mm) dome upholstery button. We are happy to quote for any size / style of button. All our buttons come as standard with plastic backs, either black or white, canvas backs on some sizes are also available, please confirm your size. Upholstery buttons C36L (23mm) are available with metal or plastic backs. Button twine is available at GBP 0.50 per 5 metre shank.

Our standard service is a 3-4 day turn-around. Express same day turn-around is available at a GBP 8.75 surcharge.
Special (next day pre 1pm) delivery is available at GBP 12.50 extra.

The above charges are the same whichever style you choose.
When no style / back colour combination has been chosen we will use dome tops and best match backs.

What we need
We will require approx. 4cm x 4cm of you fabric, a little more if it is exceptionally fine, per button. Please ensure that the face of your fabric is clearly marked. Do not cut the fabric into squares. We would recommend that when calculating your need you increase your order by 10% as it is always a good policy to have spare buttons to present with your garment.

Special Requests

Dual covering (i.e net plus fabric) please add GBP 0.50 per button. Canvas backs please add GBP 0.35 per button. For special shank alignment (where all shanks are aligned with fabric pattern), and for general use of pattern, please add GBP 0.55 per button. For exact pattern centering please add GBP 0.75 per button.

As our products have a wide and varied end-use we cannot foresee all possible applications. The following should be considered a guide only. We would be happy to place any of our eyelets in yo should you so require.
Eyelets best suited for Bridalwear & corsetry
4/7 Smooth finish, rolling eyelet:	This eyelet has a 4mm hole and an overall diameter of 7mm. It is most popular in Bridal Bodices and Corsets. It is available as standard in Black, White, Natural, Silver & Gold finishes. (All eyelet’s will have either gold or silver coloured securing washers). Special order colours are also available, but please send sample fabric & call to confirm.
SP500 Smooth finish, rolling eyelet:	The eyelet has a 5.38mm hole. It is used mostly on corsets. It is available in Brass or Nickel (silver) finishes.
Eyelets best suited to "non-clothing" items.

500 Bifurcated (splitting) eyelet	The eyelet has a 5.38mm hole. It is used on a very wide range of applications. When set this eyelet "stars" and clamps the washer with a number of "teeth" It can be used on some products without a washer. It is available in Brass, Nickel (silver), and Black Nickel (gunmetal) finishes
700 Bifurcated (splitting) eyelet	The eyelet has a 6.73mm hole. This eyelet is used on a very wide range of applications. When set this eyelet "stars" and clamps the washer with a number of "teeth" It can be used on some products without a washer. It is available in Brass, Nickel (silver), and Black Nickel (gunmetal) finishes
027B Smooth finish, rolling eyelet:	Generally know as a sail eyelet. This eyelet has an 13mm hole. It is available in Brass finish. This eyelet is used on a very wide range of applications. It is quite a substantial eyelet.

The minimum eyeleting order charge is £15.00

Lacing cord (shiny, see 3mm lacing cord at cords ) for above is available from stock at GBP 0.30 per metre in White, Ivory or Old Gold.

What we need

Please send completed panel or fabric piece clearly marked (not with indelible pen) with exact location of each eyelet (panels are best sent completed with their interlining & facing, firm interlining is best to take the strain). It is also helpful if you send a sketch showing your eyelet position & separation distance.

*Should you wish your panels insured on their return journey please include an optional insurance premium of UK & EU GBP 12.00 , rest of the world GBP 27.00 (maximum insurance value is GBP 500.00)
*Optional Express Service same-day turnaround is available at GBP 8.75.
Return UK & EU carriage for eyelet jobs is charged at a flat rate of GBP 11.75.
Rest of the world GBP 27.50 per order.
